Meet Our Staff

Pastor: Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Adkison The Rev. Dr. Stephen “Steve” Adkison grew up in Russellville, Arkansas. He graduated from Russellville High School with honors in 1987, from Arkansas Tech University with a B.A. degree in Speech and Theater in 1992, from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky with a Master of Divinity degree in 1995, and from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California with a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2011. Before being called to Chapel, Dr. Adkison served churches in Indiana (1994-1997); Arkansas (1997-2008); and Missouri (2008-2013). In addition to parish ministry, he served as a Pastoral Counselor at Norton Psychiatric Clinic in Louisville; and as an Adjunct Professor of Speech Communication at Hannibal LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri from 2011 to 2013. He has also served as a member of the Chaplaincy Corp of Hannibal Regional Hospital and served as its president in 2013-2014. Parish Nurse: Ann Fossum, RN Our Parish Health Ministry extends a warm welcome to you. Ann is here to help you become acquainted with the health services in the area and to promote ways that you can maintain and improve your physical, mental and spiritual health. Ann formerly served as the Parish Nurse at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has been an RN for 38 years and has worked in a variety of settings – hospital, home health care, hospice, and nursing administration. She worked together with her physician husband, Greg, in Women’s Health Care for many years at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Her special interests are disease prevention, nutrition and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. She and Greg moved to Ft. Myers Beach to be nearer family and to enjoy our warm weather, the beach, boating and fishing. Chapel by the Sea - Michael Director of Music Ministries: Michael Melnikov  A very talented musician, Michael was born in Russia during the Communist rule over the former Soviet Union. He came to America several years ago in a search for religious freedom. He plays Chapel’s marvelous pipe organ on Sunday mornings and directs the Chancel Choir and the Chapel Bell Choir. Chapel by the Sea - Denise Office Administrator: Denise Armstrong Our Office Administrator hails from South Carolina. She comes from a strong military family. Denise has an extensive back-ground working with nonprofits and volunteer groups and brings that same experience and enthusiasm to our Chapel community. Her favorite pastimes are cooking and growing fresh vegetables.Email Denise Armstrong

 

Administrative Assistant: Holly Tribble Holly’s smiling face is the first you see when entering the Chapel office. She has lived on the island over twelve years and loves it. Holly works with Pastor Steve, handles many day-to-day office problems and oversees the church publications. Email Holly Tribble

 

Chapel by the Sea - John Facilities Manager: John Rotach John comes to us from Delaware. He and his wife, Kay, were raised in Upstate New York and relocated to Delaware in 1985. They moved to Cape Coral in June of last year and are looking forward to enjoying the Florida sunshine as a resident instead of a visitor. Email John Rotach

 

Chapel by the Sea - Jose Sexton: Jose Ramos Jose is married with two boys, ages 20 and 16. He and his wife moved to Fort Myers Beach eleven years ago from Indianapolis. Recently Jose has been busy with many different tasks around the church. In April he began power washing the outside of the church and the results are amazing.
